Pirates huge underdogs going into playoffs
To say the Goderich Pirates are going to be the underdogs in their first round match up against Tavistock is a huge understatement.
Tavistock finished first in the South division with a 20-3-0-3 record with 43 points on the season while the Pirates finished eighth with a 7-19 record for 14 points on the season. The Royals defeated the Pirates in the regular season by scores of 8-3 and 19-2 before the Pirates pulled off the biggest upset in the regular season when they came back two weeks after that 19-2 drubbing and beat the Royals 6-5 in a shootout. Head coach Trevor Bazinet called that win "the highlight of our regular season now were just hoping for some of those miracles against them in this series" The series begins this Friday night February 4 in Goderich at 8:30pm at the MRC. Game 2 will be played in Tavistock this Sunday February 6 at 1:30pm. Game 3 is Friday February 11 in Goderich at 8:30pm at the MRC with game 4 back in Tavistock the next night Saturday February 12 8:30pm.
