Pirates Losing Streak Hits Six
The Goderich Pirates losing streak has hit a season high with two more losses this weekend. The Pirates travelled to Clinton Friday night in what was a fast paced affair but came up short on the score sheet once again losing to the Radars by a score of 4-1. The Radars sealed the game with a empty net goal. Scoring the lone goal for the Pirates was forward Matt MacPhee on a shorthanded breakaway set up by James Garthshore. Saturday the Pirates were at home for hockey day in Goderich against the physical Monkton Wildcats. The Pirates jumped on the scoreboard first with Matt MacPhee scoring on the powerplay on a nice feed from Dave Little and Scott Jamieson. Monkton than scored four unanswered goals before Sean Burton bulged the twine, but by than it was too little too late. The Pirates jsut havent been able to muster many goals of late only scoring six goals in their six matches. Your not going to win too many games in this league when your only averaging a goal a game. Pirates General Manager Trevor Bazinet is hoping to add a couple more players to the roster in the next couple weeks before the cut off deadline. Obviously we need someone who can put the puck in the back of the net but we also need to add a physical type player going down the stretch. The Pirates sit in last place in the south right now trailing Milverton by one point and Thedford by two points.
