Thanks to the enthusiasm of our Pirate hockey team, the support of the community in cheering them on and in dedication of the volunteers, our senior hockey team rallied at the end of the regular season and continued on to win the 'B' championship. The team brought home the 'B' by beating Drayton in the final four games to one.
This was the organizaton's first championship since the 96/97 season. After 13 years as a player and assistant coach of the Pirates, Dirk Wolterbeek announced he will be stepping down to pursue a coaching position with Goderich Minor Hockey. The Pirates would like to thank Wolterbeek for his years of service and wish him the best in all his future endeavors.
Our current executive consisting of Peter Imanse, Ken Englestad, Karen Poulter, Alecia Anderson,
Perry Wood and Ed and Joanne Brunk are already looking forward to the coming 2010/2011 season. The executive is please to announce that Trevor Bazinet will continue as head coach and general manager for the upcoming season.
Anyone with time to offer and interested in making a commitment to the Pirates is asked to call Peter Imanse at (519) 524-8068 or Trevor Bazinet at (519) 525-7570.
Thanks to Herb and his staff at the Park House for another great meal and thanks to the volunteers and community for their past support. Looking forward to another season
