Pirates lose close battle in game 3
Submitted By Trevor Bazinet on Monday, March 08, 2010
The Goderich Pirates lost to the Drayton Icemen on Sunday by a score of 5-4. With the win Drayton puts themselves back in the series with their first win against the Pirates. The Pirates lead the best of seven series 2 games to 1 with game 4 in Drayton this Friday night March 12 at 9:30pm. Leading the way offensively was defenceman Kyle Hamilton with a goal and two assists while Dave Meriam had a goal and a assist. Brad Powell took the loss in net, but played exceptionally well considering one of Drayton's goals he was pushed out of his net and they scored in the empty net. The Pirates were the least penalized team in the regular season and the playoffs averaging 8 minutes a game, but for some bizarre reason they took 22 minutes in penalties this game.
